you are on the homepage of the future interest group IG-Mesembs of the German Society for the other succulents “Fachgesellschaft andere Sukkulenten e.V.” (FgaS).
On 06th March 2010 the Board of the German Society for the other succulents “Fachgesellschaft andere Sukkulenten e.V.” (FgaS) has decided to risk the attempt to originate again the interest group IG-Mesembs. We are trying to gather interested parties and to find fellow campaigners to lead a little bit this organisation.
Objectives are:
♦ Conduct of an annual meeting of the interested parties – preferably at different locations.
♦ Promotion of knowledge, plants and general cultural exchange.
♦ Publishing of knowledge, or problems that could be solved through cooperation.
♦ Creation of an international foundation for a broad exchange across national and linguistic boundaries.
We are looking for friends of Mesembs (Aizoaceae), who have the desire to participate in this interest group (IG). You don’t have to be an “expert” or something similar. Your energy and your own experiences in caring for this group of plants should be enough for the present. Of course, the membership of that IG should not grow into an extremly scientific work, but it should bring joy and knowledge of other plant friends with it. Therefore, it would be nice if we could spread the tasks over many shoulders.

has kindly volunteered for first contact point and coordinator. Many thanks for it! Therefore, the board of the German Society for the other succulents “FGaS“ appointed him to be the current head of this IG.
